What is Dermatologic Surgery and Skin Cancer Surgery?
Our dermatologic surgeons are specialists trained and experienced in the surgical removal of skin tumors and growths.
Using a variety of techniques, dermatologic surgeons diagnose and treat conditions of the skin, hair, nails, veins, mucous membranes and genitalia. Our specialists treat a wide range of conditions with an equally wide range of techniques.
What We Treat
-
Cancerous Growth
Cancerous growths, such as basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer and melanoma, may be treated by surgical excision, Mohs surgery, or electrodessication.
-
Warts and Lesions
Warts and precancerous lesions are typically treated by electrosurgical destruction, freezing with liquid nitrogen or chemical acid peeling of the skin.
-
Cysts and Moles
Cysts and moles are removed surgically, sometimes requiring suture repair of the wound.
-
Wrinkles and Age Spots
Wrinkles and age spots related to aging and sun-damaged skin may be treated with liquid nitrogen and chemical peels.
Insurance Considerations
Treatment of skin cancer is considered to be medically necessary and is therefore covered by most health insurance plans. Please see our insurance list for a current listing of carriers with which we participate and for a description of our office financial policy.
